Project Overview

(1) Working principle of ANC noise reduction
The microphone collects external environmental noise, and then the system converts it into an inverted sound wave that is added to the speaker. The final sound heard by the human ear is: environmental noise+inverted environmental noise. The two types of noise are superimposed to achieve sensory noise reduction, and the beneficiary is oneself.

(2) ANC noise reduction calculation formula

Equalize and adjust the noise signal output by the sound source using a free field microphone;
Measure the sound pressure level LOpenEar in the open state of the artificial ear separately;
The sound pressure level LNR-OFF when the headphone noise reduction function is turned off after wearing the headphones;
Sound pressure level LNR-ON when wearing headphones and with headphone noise reduction function turned on;

Total noise reduction LActive+Assist=LNR-ON - LOpenEar
Active noise reduction amount LActive=LActive+Passive - LPAssive=LNR-ON - LNR-OFF

(3) ANC test link
Passive noise reduction: The audio analyzer simulates the output signal to the speaker. The headphones are placed on the artificial ear and the noise reduction function is turned off. The artificial ear collects the speaker signal and sends it back to the input of the audio analyzer. The upper computer software displays the measurement curve (passive noise reduction curve).
Active noise reduction: The audio analyzer simulates the output signal to the speaker. The headphones are worn on the artificial ear and the noise reduction function is turned on. The artificial ear collects the speaker signal and sends it back to the input of the audio analyzer. The upper computer software displays the measurement curve (active noise reduction curve).
